How we workwith you

The offer

Working software rapidly, then we stay to run it and keep improving it. Here's the whole path, start to finish.

Thepath

  1. 01

    A free 30-minute call

We work out together whether this is worth pursuing. If it's not, we say so. No obligation either way.

Bring whatever you have: a problem, half an idea, or something another supplier built that you're no longer sure about. You don't need a specification, a deck, or a budget figure. A plain description of the problem is enough.

30 minutes · Free · You leave knowing whether this is worth pursuing

  2. 02

A free briefing, one to two hours

Two senior people in the room: usually Andy Greener, our founder, plus a senior engineer or our design director. You leave with our read on feasibility, size and shape, even if the recommendation isn't us. And you'll have the discovery fee, in writing, by the end of this call. We invest these two conversations; you commit nothing.

The second seat depends on your brief: a senior engineer for a build-shaped project, our design director for a product or design-shaped one. An hour or two of senior attention before you've spent anything is deliberate. It's how we make sure a discovery only gets recommended when it should be.

One to two hours · Free · You leave with our read on feasibility, size and shape

  3. 03

A paid discovery, a few days to a week

It ends with a clickable prototype and a full product requirements document. You keep both outright, whatever you decide next; they are yours to take anywhere. Getting from prototype to production is the hard part, and the discovery fee is credited against the build if you go ahead.

Discovery is where the understanding happens: who will use the software, what it has to talk to, where the risk lives, and what version one should leave out. The prototype is something you and your team can click through yourselves, screen by screen, before any build is priced. And if discovery turns up a reason to stop, we say so before anyone commits to a build.

A few days to a week, scoped at the briefing · A fixed fee, quoted before you commit · You keep the prototype and the product requirements document outright

  4. 04

    The build

A price agreed in writing before it starts. No day rates, no meter running. Plenty of people can make a prototype look finished; making it secure, tested and able to take real customers and real payments is the hard part. That's the build.

The senior person from your briefing stays accountable for your project through the build. You see the software while it's being built, rather than at a single unveiling at the end, and you'll know the expected length of the build at the end of discovery, before you commit to it. The distance between a convincing demo and software you'd trust with your customers is the whole craft of this stage.

Weeks; you'll know the expected length at the end of discovery · A price agreed in writing before it starts · You get working software, live

  5. 05

    Then we stay

A 12-month maintenance and hosting agreement as standard. We keep it running and we keep it improving.

The full terms are below: what the agreement covers, what you own, and what happens at the end of the 12 months. After launch the same team keeps it fast, keeps it clear, and keeps it moving.

12 months · A fixed monthly amount, agreed alongside the build price · Keep it running and keep it improving

First call to the start of discovery is designed to run inside a fortnight.

The money

Every step has a price agreed in writing before it starts.

The first two conversations cost you nothing. Discovery is a fixed fee, agreed up front and credited against the build. Before you sign the build you get two numbers: the build price and the 12-month running cost. Nothing starts until you have both. You'll have the discovery fee, in writing, by the end of the briefing call.

We don't publish prices because a number without a scope is a guess, and guesses are how projects overrun.

The aftercare promise

In month 14, the people who built your software are the people who answer the phone.

Builds are delivered with a 12-month maintenance and hosting agreement as standard, sized to the build and agreed before we start. You'll know the fixed monthly amount alongside the build price, before anything is signed.

There are two parts to it. Keep it running: hosting, security, monitoring and updates, handled by people who know your system. Keep it improving: as technology moves on we keep looking for what your software could do next, so it keeps getting better instead of going stale.

If something we shipped breaks, it's our problem, under contract. And the terms are plain. Once the build is paid for in full, you own the code, the data and the keys, the hosting is portable, and renewal at month 13 is your call. If you leave, you leave with everything. We'd rather earn the renewal than contract it.

Got your own engineers and infrastructure? We build so your team can own and run it, hand over cleanly, and stay involved only as much as you want. The build is priced for a clean handover instead.

The path is the same whatever the shape of the build. What we build, and how, lives on one page.

AI

Not sure what AI actually means for your business? That's what the free calls and discovery are for; we'll tell you where it would pay off and where it would not.

How we build with AI →

23 years in business. A senior-led team in Newcastle.

The middle ground

There have never been more ways to get software built: quick demo shops at one end, six-month agencies at the other. We hold the middle on purpose: senior people, AI doing the labour, production-grade software far faster than the six-month route, and the same team still there in year three.

Who this is for

This works best for established businesses that depend on their software but are short of the team to build or evolve it. If that's you, request the call.
