Modern slaverystatement

Komodo Digital Ltd is a design and software engineering studio of 16 people in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our turnover is below the threshold at which the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement. We publish this one voluntarily, because the public bodies, charities and health organisations we work for ask their suppliers to be clear about it, and because we think it is right.
Ourposition
We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chain.
Our businessand supply chain
We employ our staff directly, under UK employment contracts, and pay everyone above the real Living Wage set by the Living Wage Foundation. We do not use zero-hours contracts, and we do not use recruitment agencies or overseas labour to deliver our work.
Our supply chain is small and low risk. It consists mainly of software and cloud services (hosting, development tools, productivity software), professional services (accountancy, legal, insurance) and our office lease. Our larger suppliers publish their own modern slavery statements, which we take into account when we choose and renew them.
Whatwe do
We check that any supplier who works on our projects or with our clients' data is a UK or EU registered business with its own employment and ethical standards.
We pay our suppliers on time, so that pressure does not pass down the chain.
Any member of staff or any supplier can raise a concern directly with a director. Concerns are investigated and, where appropriate, reported to the relevant authority.
We review this statement every year, and whenever our business or supply chain changes in a way that affects it.
